A state charter school is a tuition-free public school authorized by the State of Georgia. Like all public schools, charter schools are open to eligible students, do not charge tuition, and are held accountable for academic performance and financial responsibility. Charter schools have greater flexibility to innovate in exchange for higher levels of accountability.

MGPA is a brand-new, tuition-free public charter school, with a target opening of Fall 2027 right here for Dublin-Laurens County, serving Kindergarten through 8th grade.

No tuition! That’s right, it’s tuition-free! This is a public school, open to every resident student in our Dublin and Laurens County community.

No local tax dollars are used for State Authorized Charter Schools. MGPA will operate using state funding, federal funding, grants, and donations. However, no local tax dollars will be used.

MGPA serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade who meet the school's enrollment eligibility requirements. If more students apply than seats are available, enrollment will be determined through a public lottery in accordance with Georgia law.

As a State Charter School, MGPA is accountable to the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia for academic achievement, financial stewardship, operational performance, and organizational success. Schools that fail to meet performance expectations risk losing their charter.

Absolutely. MGPA follows the Georgia Standards of Excellence while providing innovative instructional methods that help students apply their learning through real-world experiences.

Yes. MGPA is committed to serving students with disabilities and providing services outlined in each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) in accordance with federal and state law.

Every student receives regular academic progress monitoring. Through our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), students receive intervention or enrichment based on their individual needs. We believe learning should be personalized, not one-size-fits-all.

Students who are ready for greater challenges will receive enrichment opportunities, accelerated learning experiences, and opportunities for deeper exploration. We believe every child deserves to continue growing, regardless of where they begin.

Families are essential partners in our mission. Parents are encouraged to volunteer, participate in school events, serve on committees, attend family engagement activities, and maintain regular communication with teachers.

MGPA will implement weekly half-day Fridays. This half day is optional, not required, for our families.  The second half of each Friday will be dedicated to targeted remediation, academic enrichment, interdisciplinary project-based learning, career exploration, extracurricular clubs, and leadership opportunities, allowing students to deepen learning while providing educators dedicated time for collaborative planning, professional learning, and data-driven instructional improvement.

MGPA is scheduled to welcome its first students in Fall 2027.
